Bercianos del Real Camino

Although we were up early,  we just didn't get going for an hour after waking up.  We just didn't get into the groove today.  Our waiter at the bar was extremely slow at the cafe with our coffee.   We stopped at two different markets and fumbled around for a while.

We paid for this with the day get to hotter earlier and struggling to finish our 17 mile day by 1pm.  Marion and Gisela both ended the day with blisters.  The good news was that sycamore trees lined the trail and provided some much needed shade. We stopped in Sahagun and saw some old churches and stocked up on a giant jar of Nutella.

We are looking forward to a communal meal tonight and the possibility of a shorter day tomorrow.  The heat is getting bad for a few more days and we are not allowed to leave until 6:30am tomorrow morning.

We are two days away from Leon where a lot og pilgrims start their Camino,  so it will be more busy.  Although the albergue is almost full tonight, we don't see too many familiar faces.  It's odd how fellow pilgrims come and go.

We are all tired this afternoon and welcome the forced extra rest.
